A wise man once said: " I have been up against tough competition all my life. I wouldn't know how to get along with out it." These wonderful words of Walt Disney coincide with the experiences and aspirations in my life. Without a goal in mind, you would never be able to experience the hardships of success, failure and the final gain of what you have worked so hard. Needless to say, Walt Disney and myself, have a few commonalities. The passion for creativity and motivation it brings for the tough competition.
Growing up with a passionate sports loving family, competition is an understatement. It permanently gave me a personal drive for success. Sports, and how the motivation behind an achieved goal, has brought forth a "new" me. Getting beat by my brothers in street hockey and baseball multiple times has most definitely brought me to having a humble attitude of never giving up.
Through childhood trial, observations and triumphant victories, it has shaped me into the determined person I am today. With always having a passion for sports, I discovered my passion for photography at a young age. With my great grandfather and father both having a similar passion for seeing art through a lens, it wasn't until my first year in college that the realization of a career in photography was my new found ambition.
Now with a photographic career oriented goal, sports photography became a main focus. Being a female photographer in the sports world, has brought me back to those childhood hardships. The hunger for conquering stereotypes and the inspiration of becoming a successful photographer has pushed to become the professional I am today. Sports photography was just the stem to a bloomed zeal for creative photography.
As Walt Disney also said "It's kind of fun to do the impossible," we are similar in the mind set of the impossible being what we strive for. Imagination is just the beginning of infinite possibilities.
Thanks to God who is glorious in all ways. I would not be where and who I am with out him. All glory be to him.
" I have set the LORD always before me; because he is at my right hand, I shall not be shaken." Psalm 16:8
